Oakwell away guide
Away fans are in the North Stand, which is the end Barnsley name as the away end in their own visitor guide. Oakwell is all seated, and the club say plainly that they will not have persistent standing, so expect to be asked to sit down. There are 18 wheelchair bays in that stand, raised, and 12 away disabled parking spaces in the Queens Ground car park at £5, first come first served. Turnstiles open 90 minutes before a 3pm kick-off. There is no getting back in if you leave before the end.
Oakwell only permits small bags no larger than 30cm by 20cm by 10cm. Large bags, backpacks and suitcases are prohibited, and all bags are searched.
Checked 27 May 2026 against Barnsley FC bag check policy.
Barnsley Interchange is a 15-minute walk, the club's own figure, with trains from Leeds, Huddersfield and Sheffield. Their route turns left out of the Interchange, away from the town centre, goes under the bridge the dual carriageway runs across, then left up the slip road and first right onto Queens Road: head past the Metrodome and Oakwell appears at the bottom of the hill on Grove Street. That walk passes the Market Hill pubs, so build in a stop. Driving, it is M1 junction 37 then the A628 and you will pick up signs. Away supporters park at the Queens Ground car park, S71 1AN, £5 a car, £10 a minibus and £20 a coach. Access shuts 30 minutes before kick-off, you can only drive out before the 80th minute, and nothing moves for at least 15 minutes after the whistle.
