Kenilworth Road away guide

Luton Town away end

Kenilworth Road's away end is a piece of football folklore: the Oak Road End behind the goal, which the club themselves describe as packed tightly into the neighbouring houses, reached through turnstiles wedged into a terraced row. Turnstiles 28 to 32 serve that end. There is a licensed bar for away fans inside, on the left as you look at the pitch, but safety limits it to 60 people at a time, so do not build the afternoon around it. The stadium shop, the fan zone and the matchday ticket office are all at the other end of the ground, on the Kenilworth Road side. Kenilworth Road is cashless, card and contactless only at the kiosks, the shop and the ticket office.

Kenilworth Road bag policy

Luton require a medical exemption certificate for medical or equipment bags, regardless of size. Approved exempted bags are still searched at the turnstiles.

Getting to Kenilworth Road: nearest station

Luton station is a 20-minute walk, the club's own figure, out through town towards Bury Park. Do not aim for the other two: they put Luton Airport Parkway at 43 minutes on foot and Leagrave at 48. Thameslink run in from St Pancras, Blackfriars and London Bridge, and a group of 3 to 9 saves a third with a GroupSave ticket. The quicker way in is the Luton to Dunstable Busway: take a bus from Luton station towards Dunstable, get off at the first stop for Clifton Road, and it is 3 to 4 minutes to the Kenilworth Road end via Beech Path, or 2 minutes to the Maple Road turnstiles. Arriva run the A, Z, H, L, X2/X3, 1, 27, 28 and 32 from the town centre and Dunstable. Parking at the ground is not available to ordinary ticket holders: the club point you at Power Court, and Telford Way is the closest of the public car parks at about 5 minutes, with Library Road, Luton station, Bute Street, John Street, the Market car park and the Flyover all between 10 and 20. Traffic in town is heavy on a Saturday, and the turnstiles in the back of terraced houses are part of the day, so give yourself extra.
