The away section is the North Stand, up on the upper tier behind the goal, one of the higher away ends in the league. Turnstiles 69 to 74, opening 90 minutes before kick-off. If you need step-free access, the lift at the 76 Yards entrance takes you up to level 3.

Small bags under A4 are allowed and searched; plastic bottles, flasks and large umbrellas are on the banned list. For selected fixtures an advanced search also bars coins, vapes and power banks, flagged through your own club beforehand.

St Peter's (Tyne & Wear Metro) is about a 6-minute walk across the river to the away end. The Metro runs direct from Newcastle in 25 minutes and is the easy choice if you're staying up there. Heading back north after the game, board at Stadium of Light station, not St Peter's, which serves the southbound line. Sunderland mainline station is a 15-minute walk if you're arriving on a National Rail service from York or further south.
