Toughsheet Community Stadium
Home of Bolton Wanderers in Bolton, capacity 28,723. Out of town beside the M61, away fans in the South Stand. There is no pub at the ground, so either walk to the Beehive or drink on the away concourse.
Also known as University of Bolton Stadium, Bolton Wanderers Stadium, Bolton Stadium.
Toughsheet Community Stadium away guide
Away fans get the South Stand, which Bolton call the Franking Sense South Stand on tickets and signage. Your ticket names the stand, row, seat and the entrance to use, so read it before you pick a side of the ground rather than following the crowd. Turnstiles open an hour and a half before kick-off and scan a QR code, so have the screen bright and the ticket open. Collections are from the ticket window in the Club Shop, next to the Ticket Office, from 1 to 2 hours before kick-off. There is no re-entry once you leave. Wheelchair bays sit on a raised platform in front of the South Stand, and if stairs are a problem the club ask you to book the front 2 rows of the away blocks. The away concourse does a proper job on food and drink, with pies, pasties, burgers and hot dogs plus beer, cider and wine, which matters here because there is no pub at the ground. It is cashless, so bring a card.
Bolton recommend avoiding bags bigger than A4. Larger bags are subject to full bag checks, and there are no storage facilities for large bags, pushchairs or luggage.

Horwich Parkway is the station you want, not Bolton: the club call it adjacent to the stadium and under a 5-minute walk, with trains from Blackpool and Preston to the north and Manchester and Bolton to the south. Bolton runs a matchday bus service too. Driving in off the M61 J6 is easy, and away parking is Car Park A at £8 a vehicle, signposted, sold on the day and never pre-bookable, so come early if you need a space. The ground is cashless throughout: the nearest cash machines are outside Asda on Middlebrook Retail Park and outside Tesco opposite the stadium, reached by the steps next to the Club Shop. The town centre of Bolton is 10 minutes by train but offers little for matchday, drink at the on-site Beehive or build a longer day around the town.
